SEMAGLUTIDE - GLP1 (glucagon like peptide 1)
GLP-1 is a natural gut hormone that regulates blood sugar by promoting insulin release and suppressing glucagon. GLP-1 also slows digestion and reduces appetite by slowing stomach emptying and increasing fullness.
SEMAGLUTIDE DOSING 2.5MG/ML
(Anytime there a gap in care of more than two weeks you should restart the titration at the 0.25 mg dose.)
Week 1-4/1st month: 0.25 mg injected weekly
Follow up: Did you lose 10#? Yes-same dose, if no, increase your dose. If you are having side effect not managed with over the counter digestive aides, antacids and laxatives you should message us in the patient portal.
Week 5-8/2nd month: 0.5 mg weekly
Week 9-12/3rd month: 1.25 mg weekly Week 13-16/4th month: 2.5 mg weekly (Max dose)
***You should not order more than a two month supply as it will lose the effectiveness and bacteria may grow in the vial after 56 days.
***Unopened semaglutide vials: Store in the refrigerator at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) and never freeze.
***Opened semaglutide vials: Can be stored refrigerated or at room temperature up to 86°F (30°C) for 56 days.
Injection Instructions:
Swirl the bottle gently
Ensure the liquid is not cloudy, meaning you can see through it.
Wipe rubber top with alcohol pad
Watch video on proper way to draw medication from a vial with a syringe.
Cleanse skin with to be injected with alcohol.
Inject may be placed into any fatty tissue. (This is called a subcutaneous injection)
